Do you believe this world is a fucked up place???

Today just reconfirmed my null hypothesis since the beginning of time. Within a short span of my 20-minute walk to Boon Keng MRT, I witnessed the ugly side of people on three separate occasions.

1) Secondary school kids who insisted on walking in 3s, taking up the entire walkway on the bridge across the canal. Such that only a single flow of direction was available. - I personally believe this is a highly selfish action and I cannot understand how some people purely don’t know how to “做人”

2) This kind working class mother in her 40s wanted to help an old man (probably in his late 60s) as he was trying to maneuver his wheelchair up a curb. He merely retorted so loud for everyone to hear, “Please go away. I don’t want your help. Go away!” - I mean honestly, he could have said it nicely, right? Like “No thank you. Have a good day nonetheless.” etc.

3) China people shouting at the top of their voices. Now I understand this occurs so often that most people are numb to their unbearable behavior. But it baffles me how can one possibly talk SO LOUDLY, such that I could hear them from one floor above?!?!!? In the morning, when everyone’s slowing trying to grease back their gears for work/school. - tell me this is not a selfish act, and I will prove to you why it is

The only saving grace of today?
2 birds standing by their fallen brother who has died this morning while I walked past and stopped to look, they didn’t even flinch.

Sometimes I question if we are supposed to be really more intellectual than animals………………..

I am so happy I took today off to just……..kinda remember I am alive. I have been so swamped with all sorts of to-do lists; so many people’s expectations that I have to uphold. It was nice to do something for myself today. At my own time,... Continue →
